AESC is seeking entry-level Engineers to provide support for energy efficiency and demand side management programs in our Carlsbad, Pasadena, and Oakland, California offices. The position will focus on focus on energy efficiency programs and strategies to save energy in buildings.  

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Prepare written analysis of findings and recommendations for energy efficiency, demand response, and self-generation measures for submittal to clients. 
  • Conduct site inspections and/or gather data needed to perform energy-related analyses of sites or equipment. 
  • Utilize analytical tools and measurement and verification methodologies to evaluate the performance of energy systems and equipment. 
  • Interact closely with project managers and clients in order to meet project deadlines and budgets. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Electrical. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to write routine reports and other professional correspondence.  
  • Ability to apply algebraic solutions and statistical analysis mathematical operations to such tasks. 
  • Ability to interpret and understand mechanical and electrical drawings as well as equipment nameplate data and manufacturer specifications. 
  • Ability to apply basic thermodynamic concepts such as system efficiency and conservation of energy. 
  • Proficient PC skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Must have reliable transportation, this position requires travel to customer sites.

AESC is seeking an experienced Business Development (BD) Manager to identify and develop new business opportunities for AESC with a focus on utilities, government, and C&I clients in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The BD Manager will work closely with AESC’s Southeast Program Manager and AESC’s BD and leadership teams on strategy and execution to ensure healthy growth for the region and the company. The position is located in AESC’s Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains the Southeast business plan identifying key growth strategies, opportunities, customer targets and industry partners for scopes of work that align with AESC’s core competencies.
  • Coordinates with AESC’s BD and leadership teams on national BD initiatives, marketing and outreach, proposals and key initiatives. Ensures that the SE business plan aligns with the broader AESC BD plan.
  • Performs BD activities and direct client outreach, with a focus on Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states, to capture new work and expand AESC service offerings.
  • Attends conferences, meetings, and events to drive relationships and business development objectives.
  • Utilizes AESC processes and systems to track and update leads, accounts, contacts, and opportunities. Creates new processes and systems, as needed, to support BD objectives.

  • Leads, supports, and/or provides insight and input into proposals by advocating for customer needs and client requirements and providing subject matter expertise around regional programs and initiatives.
  • Engages with AESC subject matter experts, as needed, to shape and develop product offerings.
  • Supports regional Program Managers on strategic pursuits, proposal development and client meetings.
  • Stays current with regional industry and regulatory updates impacting clients and business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field of study preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience selling and/or delivering engineering, consulting, energy management and/or software solutions in support of a clean energy future.
  • Proven understanding of the clean energy industry including energy efficiency projects and programs, renewables, energy storage, electrification and decarbonization, power resiliency, and clean transportation.
  • Strong network of contacts with key decision makers and influencers in the clean energy industry, as well as proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with industry members and partners.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to contribute to proposals and develop and deliver professional presentations, is mandatory. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow through.

AESC is seeking an organized, innovative, and detail-oriented Senior Proposal Manager — with 7+ years of experience — to lead our proposal execution efforts. In this pivotal role, the Senior Proposal Manager will lead the proposal development process from start to finish including managing the workflow of the response and ensuring the finished submission package meets both company and client requirements. The Senior Proposal Manager will be responsible for managing concurrent efforts, creating well-organized and persuasive written and visual content to promote our energy services to existing and prospective clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with AESC’s business development team to develop and maintain capture plans for AESC’s strategic growth areas.
  • Evaluate and prioritize response types (RFPs, RFAs, RFQs, RFIs, etc.) based on capture plans.
  • Execute proposal efforts on large, complex opportunities and participate in and support strategy sessions.
  • Work with AESC teammates and external partners to develop winning proposal strategies.
  • Lead proposal activities, including managing proposal schedules and deadlines, developing proposal outlines, assigning tasks to individual contributors, coordinating proposal review cycles, and monitoring the progress of proposals.
  • Collaborate with AESC’s subject matter experts and write/review/edit original content to ensure consistency, flow, inclusion of win themes and differentiators, and conformance with RFP selection criteria.
  • Prepare proposal graphics, and/or work with graphic design staff, to effectively communicate the intended strategic vision.
  • Ensure professional, consistent layout and format of all proposal sections.
  • Cross-check proposal submittals with RFP requirements and ensure compliance.

AESC is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to provide support for energy efficiency and demand side management programs in our Carlsbad or Pasadena, California office. The position will focus on focus on technology to market initiatives that promote emergent technologies and strategies to save energy in buildings. Other responsibilities may include whole building facility audits, energy analysis, and project development and management for multiple energy efficiency projects and/or customers.

This position requires strong technical capabilities including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency and demand side management. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate flexibility, diversity of technical expertise, strong communication skills and excellent customer engagement skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to support program outreach and customer engagement.
  • Research codes and standards (C&S) and emerging technologies and demonstrations.
  • Conduct energy audits at commercial, industrial and municipal facilities to determine, develop, recommend and help implement projects that result in energy savings.
  • Conduct targeted site inspections to collect data and perform functional testing needed to establish existing equipment/system conditions.
  • Develop project-specific measurement and verification (M&V) plans to support energy savings claims.
  • Install and remove meters and data collection equipment.
  • Use analytical tools and M&V methodologies to evaluate the performance of, and make recommendations for, enhanced systems and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
