The Assistant Controller works under the guidance of the Controller and assists with directing the organization’s financial operations and administration for multiple companies.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include whole building industrial facility audits, energy analysis, and project development and management for multiple industrial energy efficiency projects and/or customers. The position requires strong technical capabilities including knowledge of industrial building systems, energy efficiency and demand side management. This position requires flexibility, diversity of technical expertise, strong communication skills and excellent customer engagement skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to support industrial program outreach and customer engagement.
  • Conduct energy audits at industrial and municipal (water/wastewater) facilities to determine, develop, recommend and help implement projects that result in energy savings.
  • Conduct targeted site inspections to collect data and perform functional testing needed to establish existing equipment/system conditions.
  • Develop project-specific measurement and verification (M&V) plans to support energy savings claims.
  • Install and remove meters and data collection equipment.
  • Use analytical tools and M&V methodologies to evaluate the performance of, and make recommendations for, enhanced systems and equipment.
  • Perform complex energy and financial analyses leveraging appropriate software and hardware tools, including meter and logger deployment, interval data analysis, building automation system/supervisory control and data acquisition/enterprise metering software, utility bills, energy modeling, energy savings calculations, cost estimation, and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Research and evaluate innovative approaches towards energy efficiency, demand response, energy resiliency and renewable energy.
  • Develop technical reports that summarize project scope, energy savings calculation methodologies, M&V activities, M&V results, key assumptions and recommendations.
  • Keep managers informed of project schedules and progress.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and maintain quality control of deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of technical protocols, quality assurance procedures and technical requirements for energy efficiency and demand side management programs.
  • Stay informed about energy issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in the industrial field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Practical experience and strong working knowledge of various systems in industrial facilities required (e.g., combined heat and power, compressed air, refrigeration, boilers, water/wastewater, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience performing in-depth, investment grade, industrial energy audits.
  • Experience in the energy field, such as energy efficiency, distributed energy generation/combined heat and power, project economics/rate analysis, project design, renewable energy, HVAC, central heating and cooling plants is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of measurement and verification techniques and how to apply International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocols (IPMVP) based on project scope and goals.

AESC is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to provide support for industrial energy efficiency and demand side management programs in Fresno, California. Responsibilities may include whole building industrial facility audits, energy analysis, and project development and management for multiple industrial energy efficiency projects and/or customers. The position requires strong technical capabilities including knowledge of industrial building systems, energy efficiency and demand side management. Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to support industrial program outreach and customer engagement.
  • Conduct energy audits at industrial and municipal (water/wastewater) facilities to determine, develop, recommend and help implement projects that result in energy savings.
  • Conduct targeted site inspections to collect data and perform functional testing needed to establish existing equipment/system conditions.
  • Develop project-specific measurement and verification (M&V) plans to support energy savings claims.
  • Install and remove meters and data collection equipment.

  • Perform complex energy and financial analyses leveraging appropriate software and hardware tools, including meter and logger deployment, interval data analysis, building automation system/supervisory control and data acquisition/enterprise metering software, utility bills, energy modeling, energy savings calculations, cost estimation, and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Research and evaluate innovative approaches towards energy efficiency, demand response, energy resiliency and renewable energy.
  • Develop technical reports that summarize project scope, energy savings calculation methodologies, M&V activities, M&V results, key assumptions and recommendations.
  • Keep managers informed of project schedules and progress.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and maintain quality control of deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of technical protocols, quality assurance procedures and technical requirements for energy efficiency and demand side management programs.
  • Stay informed about energy issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in the industrial field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Practical experience and strong working knowledge of various systems in industrial facilities required (e.g., combined heat and power, compressed air, refrigeration, boilers, water/wastewater, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience performing in-depth, investment grade, industrial energy audits.
  • Experience in the energy field, such as energy efficiency, distributed energy generation/combined heat and power, project economics/rate analysis, project design, renewable energy, HVAC, central heating and cooling plants is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of measurement and verification techniques and how to apply International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocols (IPMVP) based on project scope and goals.
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional and collaborative manner through written reports and excellent oral communication.
