Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains and reconciles the general ledger. 
  • Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
    Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. 
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections. 
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements accurately and in compliance with GAAP standards. 
  • Manages billing for all companies through time and materials (T&M), fixed fee, and progress billing for professional services and contracting revenue. 
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of related experience. 
  • Detail orientated with effective communication skills to manage accounts receivable (AR) and nuanced invoicing procedures.  
  • Ability to prioritize multiple on-going tasks and manage deadlines. 
  • Job costing is a plus, specifically with commercial solar and/or energy efficiency projects.

AESC is seeking an experienced Business Development (BD) Manager to identify and develop new business opportunities for AESC with a focus on utilities, government, and C&I clients in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The BD Manager will work closely with AESC’s Southeast Program Manager and AESC’s BD and leadership teams on strategy and execution to ensure healthy growth for the region and the company. Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains the Southeast business plan identifying key growth strategies, opportunities, customer targets and industry partners for scopes of work that align with AESC’s core competencies.

  • Use analytical tools and M&V methodologies to evaluate the performance of, and make recommendations for, enhanced systems and equipment.
  • Perform complex energy and financial analyses leveraging appropriate software and hardware tools.
  • Research and evaluate innovative approaches towards energy efficiency, demand response, energy resiliency and renewable energy.
  • Develop technical reports that summarize project scope, energy savings calculation methodologies, M&V activities, M&V results, key assumptions and recommendations.
  • Keep managers informed of project schedules and progress.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Practical experience and strong working knowledge of various systems in commercial and industrial facilities required.
  • Experience in the energy field, such as energy efficiency, distributed energy generation/combined heat and power, project economics/rate analysis, project design, renewable energy, HVAC, central heating and cooling plants is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience performing in-depth energy audits.
  • Working knowledge of measurement and verification techniques and how to apply International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocols (IPMVP) based on project scope and goals.
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional and collaborative manner through written reports and excellent oral communication.
  • Proficiency with a variety of energy analysis tools software including expertise in MS Excel.
  • Must have reliable transportation, this position requires travel to customer sites.
