AESC selected to provide energy-related building upgrade concierge software services to the new Inland Regional Energy Network (IREN)

AESC has been selected by Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) to provide energy-related building upgrade concierge (BUC) software services for 22 agencies in the Inland Regional Energy Network (I-REN). AESC will be leveraging nearly three decades of software development supporting utility and municipal clients and programs. Praxis by AESC is a flexible cloud-based software platform with integrated tools and features to help project developers and program implementers analyze, estimate, measure and track energy projects and programs.

AESC’s customized software solution for I-REN will assist Trade Allies by providing information on relevant program and financing opportunities, assisting in information gathering for enrollment and eligibility, and facilitating communication. The software will also provide ease of use for I-REN staff with program management and regulatory reporting. I-REN plans to share this software in centralized aggregation centers that will facilitate uptake of efficiency projects.

Who is I-REN?

The Inland Regional Energy Network (I-REN) is California’s newest Regional Energy Network comprised of 22 cities, counties, water districts and school districts in Riverside and San Bernadino counties.  Under the lead agency of WRCOG, I-REN’s business plan was authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) at a budget of $65M from 2022-2027 to implement regional public sector energy programs, codes and standards support, and workforce education and training programs. I-REN is currently one of four Regional Energy Networks (RENs) authorized in California. RENs were authorized in 2012 by the CPUC as a way to administer energy efficiency programs outside the traditional Investor-Owned Utility (IOU)-program structure.
