AESC providing energy engineering services for affordable multi-family properties in Washington, D.C.

Engineering

AESC has initiated a new scope of services for the District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU), a program of the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE).

DCSEU designs and implements programs to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The program ensures District residents and businesses are benefiting – including low-income and multifamily communities.

In a special initiative designed to help D.C.’s affordable multi-family properties comply with the city’s Building Energy Performance Standard (BEPS) energy ordinance, AESC is performing site assessments at no cost to building owners. The assessments identify HVAC, lighting, hot water, plug load and building envelope strategies that can save energy, reduce utility costs, modernize building systems and reduce environmental impact.

The initiative is managed by DCSEU and funded through a DOEE special grant. DCSEU and DOEE will also be offering traditional and enhanced incentives and funding to help customers implement facility retrofits.
